Our Story
Toymaker Cellars was founded in 2011 with the mission of creating a fun and playful interpretation of a serious Napa Valley Grand Cru Cabernet Sauvignon by combining excellence in winemaking with world-class design.
Our limited annual production of only 250 cases allows us to focus entirely on quality, resulting in the best-possible wines the terroir will allow. We use only the finest grapes, materials, and industry-leading winemaking methods—high-elevation, hillside, single-vineyard Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley; imported French glass, foil, tanks and barrels; curated Spanish cork; extended maceration; 28-monthlong oak barrel aging—to create our best rendition of the quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Toymaker Cellars Head Winemaker, Martha McClellan
Every step during our winemaking process, from first crush to final bottling, is deliberately and meticulously executed under the direction of head winemaker, Martha McClellan. Label design, likewise, runs through countless iterations with our design team. Our unique labels, which change every year, are made using a custom printing process only a handful of artisans around the world are capable of.
After deliberately lengthy barrel-aging and individual hand-bottling and hand-labeling, our wines are laid down to rest for an additional 18 months of bottle-aging before becoming available for purchase. This makes them ready to drink upon release, or, if you can wait, cellar-worthy for decades to come.
We are delighted to make these wines available to you. For exclusive access to our rare offerings, including past vintages, please sign up for our mailing list.
